With over twenty-five years experience conducting a wide range of clinical trials, Senior Adults Specialty Research is an independent research site located in Austin, Texas.  Our mission is to conduct research in a manner that expands the options available for psychiatric and medical care, utilizing proven research techniques, while protecting the rights, dignity, and health of our patients.  We specialize in conducting clinical trials for CNS disorders including Alzheimer’s disease, Mild Cognitive Impairment, and other psychiatric disorders. In addition, our site has expertise in conducting clinical research with transcranial magnetic stimulation medical devices with several indications.

Site Capabilities

Senior Adults Specialty Research conducts Phase II, III and IV clinical trials.  Our principal investigators include board certified General and Geriatric Psychiatrists, Neurologists and Internal Medicine physicians.  Our primary principal investigator Jaron L. Winston, MD, is board certified in general and geriatric psychiatry.

  • Our site always uses a Central IRB

  • Sponsor and CRO relationships include most large and small companies in CNS

  • Site has dedicated space for CRAs/monitors with WIFI connection

  • All site personnel have desktop computers with high-speed internet

  • Our coordinators have experience with most eCRF or electronic data capture systems, as well as IVRS and IWRS

  • Rating experience includes Alzheimer disease Cooperative Scales, ADAS-Cog, ADCS-ADLs,  CANTAB, CDR, CGI, CGIC, CSSR-S, FAQ, NPI, WMS, FCSRT, MADRS, HAM-D, HAM-A, RBANS, YMRS, AIMS, SCID, MINI, Modified Hachinski and others relevant to psychiatry and neurology protocols.  We employ multiple full-time coordinators and raters, including RNs and master’s level professionals, licensed psychologists as well as, affiliated consulting specialists.
