Senior Adults Specialty Research is a privately owned, established clinical research site located in Austin, Texas, specializing in Central Nervous System (CNS) clinical trials with a focus on Alzheimer’s disease and other cognitive disorders. Our experienced, multidisciplinary team bring over twenty years of expertise conducting Phase II–IV studies across prevention, early symptomatic, and symptomatic Alzheimer’s disease stages.
The site is led by John A. Bertelson, MD, FAAN, a recognized leader in dementia research and clinical care. We emphasize experienced Principal Investigator oversight, participant safety, operational excellence, data quality, rater continuity, and participant-centered study conduct, partnering closely with pharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations to advance high-quality clinical research.
Our Capabilities
- Over 20 years’ experience conducting Phase II, III and IV CNS clinical trials
- Onsite Principal and Sub-Investigator oversight of clinical trial activities
- Consistent rater team with expertise in Alzheimer’s disease assessments, including blinded rater capabilities
- Staff maintain current training and certifications in ICH-GCP, HSP and HIPAA
- Extensive experience working with Central IRBs; budgets and clinical trial agreements reviewed and executed in-house to support accelerated study start-up
- Remote and onsite monitoring capabilities
Recruitment/Retention Capabilities
- Dedicated, clinician-led recruitment coordination, including participant and caregiver engagement
- Established participant database, including individuals with prior Alzheimer’s disease biomarker results
- Ongoing referrals, as appropriate, from Investigators’ clinical practices
- Positive relationship with community stakeholders in the aging community to support diversity and equity in recruitment
- Track record of meeting or exceeding enrollment goals with low screen failure and high retention rates
